Serhii Zenin
Kharkiv, Ukraine
73 y. o.
I am a pensioner, living with my wife, also a pensioner, born in 1953, who has a group III disability.

What was your life like before...
Before retiring in 2013, I worked as a specialist in automating various processes in the retail sector.
How does this affect your everyday life?
Because I have a chronic thyroid condition, namely autoimmune thyroiditis, which affects the whole body, as a result I sleep only 3-4 hours, and then until morning I either don't sleep at all or take sleeping pills.
Your strengths and dreams
I have a good education: back in 1976 I graduated from KhAI, and all my life I mastered various professions, and until recently I sometimes even consulted those interested on automation questions; unfortunately, that is no longer in demand. I dream that a time will come when my knowledge will be needed again, if age and health allow.
What exactly will the funds be used for?
A significant part of my wife's and my pensions goes on medicine, which unfortunately keeps getting more expensive. My wife has a group III disability, has undergone a number of serious operations and needs to take medication constantly, including some that are not covered by the state "Affordable Medicines" program. As for me, my thyroid condition is such that I now need to start permanent replacement therapy.
