Our home is destroyed, and when we left we could not take the necessary things. We have many illnesses, the medicine is expensive, and the pension is small.

What was your life like before...

We had our own house, a small farmstead and a vegetable garden where we grew all our vegetables and fruit, and we had enough both to eat and to make preserves.

How does this affect your everyday life?

In the morning I get up, drink tea and go out to walk somewhere, because I just cannot get used to it.. I remember my own home, where I was born and lived my whole life, and how much effort I put into it. It is morally hard to buy vegetables at such prices, knowing that I had all of this in my own garden.

Your strengths and dreams

What keeps me going is the hope that everything will change for the better. I read, do crossword puzzles and talk with other displaced people like me.

What exactly will the funds be used for?

We need the funds to buy winter clothes and shoes. And we would like to eat a bit more varied food, to buy groceries we can't afford.
