What was your life like before...

Life before... life before all this horror. Almost my whole life has been a struggle; as long as I can remember I have fought for things to be fair. My children and I went to church, because God is a great support and help. I did not work because my youngest child was often ill and was about to start first grade, and nobody wanted to hire a mother with problems. I have a higher education in economics, but I had to take on all kinds of jobs: I cleaned stairwells, sold vegetables at the market, I did not sit with folded hands. It was not easy before the war, but few people knew how we lived with the children.

How does this affect your everyday life?

Morning... let's start with the fact that when morning comes, that is already a joy. Night shelling, shelters, but we are alive. I was laid off from work again. Again I am searching. Falling asleep, I think about the morning, about what to give the children; it is already autumn and they need clothes. I am a mother. I thank everyone for any help.

Your strengths and dreams

My children are what keep me from giving up; if not me, then who. I dream that this terrible war will end and that the children and I can live in peace without fear. It is awkward to praise myself, but my strong side is faith. Faith in God, faith in people, faith in something better!

What exactly will the funds be used for?

Utility bills have to be paid, the cold is coming and we need clothes. There are problems with food in the shops and prices are rising at the speed of sound, and food is needed every day.
